The right to vote is a fairly new concept in terms of the history of the world. Yet we still don't appreciate or fully understand the real result of voting and what affect it can actually have. Evidence of this is the joke of a presidential election in America. In November of 2016, sleepy and fatigued from the day, I attempted to stay up late in order to learn the outcome of the American presidential election as soon as possible. I made it to 5am and I just could not take it anymore.
This was always going to be a vote between two people who aren't the best candidates to be the most powerful figure in the world. Then, Hillary was a much more ideal candidate. After all, the facts are that she was not going to trial that December to answer to allegations of sexual assault from multiple women, to defend herself against a failed and corrupt university she started... but D*nald tr*mp was.
It's not just sensitive notions either. It's not just Tr*mps words that are scary. Already we were hearing about his stupid, idiotic policies. How M*ke P*nce was going to take away funding set aside for people with HIV/AIDS and use it to fund 'conversion therapy'. This is a horrible thing to say and an ultimately financially STUPID way of spending tax payers money. So if you did vote for this man and the devil that is his vice president, I cannot even justify berating you because I'm actually upset you exist. I completely disagree with any reason you may have for voting Tr*mp. Put simply, you voted for 4 years of uncertainty and mass neglect of ALL minorities, women, children, the disabled and anyone who is not in the top 1% of the 1%.
These are things that we can see were certainly big things on this governments wicked, childish list of things they needed to do. They have attempted to demonise minority, defenceless groups of people that tend to have little power to speak up and do something deemed worthy. It really is the age old problem that has plagued us as human beings, the problem of crappy humans getting a bit of power and using it in a specifically evil way. To victimise themselves in order to get stupid laws and amendments passed through their courts. D*nald tr*mp was a puppet, but he was a man who knew exactly what the muslim ban, the horrid comments and the bile he spewed up was doing. Especially when he was talking to his supporters. Luckily, most of the judges that have overseen such cases have done all that was in their powers to stop anything D*nald Tr*mp and his not so merry men have tried to pass into the law of what they think is their white supremacy utopia.
America voted with fear. We all know this well, but that’s exactly the problem that is stopping the word as a whole from developing and it’s really something we need to address as one race. It seems that nowadays especially, people think it has to be the way of the world to argue and insult, but it achieves nothing. Why are we so concerned with labelling each other with things that are not true.
Fear can make anyone do incredibly DENSE things. Unfortunately for the world, the outcome of these Americans foolish spur of the moment choice has dire consequences. It's not like, after all, that Tr*mp has shown any remorse or reason for being such an awful person.
I tried to see if media was actually twisting his words or making him seem worse than he is. I personally did not believe that a man with such peculiar and patriarchal old world views could get this far. So surely he's got some decency. Where though? Where can this be found in a man that I'm very much certain did actually sexually assault those women who are saying he did. He can try to silence them, because thats what people who sexual assault do, They try to use their stance in society as a means to get away with it. The scary thing is D*nald Tr*mp has now been able to do the unthinkable and achieved the position in the highest office, has the most influence and power and it will be very hard now to actually get anywhere with restitution.
Never give up America, Fight and be free. It is your right to live in a country where you are accepted and understood. A country where you are listened to and have the power to change things for the better. Always have hope, and you will never be defeated.
I'm left wondering sometimes whether people actually realise this isn't a game. When you use your democratic right to vote, for free speech, for hate the outcomes of this can create an impression of pure hatred that is echoed around the world. It's not making your country great, it's making it slip more and more into a void of lost hope and public embarrassment. Why do people think it is now appropriate to create a society like this. Absolutely NOTHING has changed, and i'm sorry to tell the hateful millions this but its not going to change any time soon. People will always have good interests and bad interests, but those with good interests will always succeed.
I've personally spent a lot of time to pause and reflect on life. How should I go forward best in a world of turmoil and anxieties about our future. We all need to do this sometimes. Reflect on how life is going. It seems though that supporters of regimes like D*nald Tr*mps want us to be thoughtless, to be led by a man who can’t even lead himself into a healthy lifestyle. They always say we should look up to our elders, but the example of Tr*mp is the exact kind of elder our children and youngsters should never look up to. The sad thing is that there will actually be people who say that D*nald Tr*mp is completely saint like. That he is a perfect person for their children to look up to. How? How is this man in any way suitable to lead the next generation. He first of all set your whole large country back about 70 or so years. That can’t seem good to anyone, surely?
I’m not saying i’m perfect, what I believe is universally perfect, or that I know everything about anything in the world. After all, i’m in my early twenties and apparently much of the world isn’t accessible until you are 99 years old. Or so they want us to believe. We can't be perfect, but this is what's great about being a modern human being, it's that we make mistakes. I can admit that i've made many mistakes, because the fact is we all do. What isn’t forgivable about human beings is those who get up each day to achieve tasks aiming to ultimately make life a tiny bit harder with each law or something they pass.
It baffles me that someone would actually go to so much bother to make their hatred seem valid. Perhaps just calm down a bit, take a break from your acidic nature. I know it’s hard, but if your walk outside and experience the modern world you will see that your way of thinking is a bi embarrassing, it’s abnormal to judge people because of their race or accent or any other part of them that they cannot change. I’m always confused with the beliefs of some who say that a woman who aborts a child is a demon but a man who shoots an 11 year old in the head point black because his mother is a lesbian is an angelic patriot who believes in the lord Jesus christ almighty sexy god of our lovely Earth, planet white man.
I've been working on self development a lot lately, I think this is the best thing to do. Self development not only helps ourselves but it helps others as well. It allows us to grow, because that’s natural for us as human beings. It’s something we have always done, whether that be through our evolution or our way of thinking, we grow. We don’t make laws or get voted into positions of power to sit on Twitter on the toilet at 3am, scratching our heads over whether we should complain about Hillary or block a gay journalist when your the president of the United States.
I want you to think about your life for a little bit. Find comfort in your own securities and confidence. NEVER let anyone tell you to be something that you are not, we need to be a world that embraces our differences with our obvious similarities. What happened to unity and being ourselves, where did the happiness go from our world. Please, for my future and your own, work your hardest to bring this back. I want to live a full life, the way this planet is going, there doesn't seem to be the greatest outlook for this happening.
Nobody wants to be in the generation that caused the apocalyptic fall of our humanity, but it seems for many people, humanity is a thing for 'the liberals', for the 'softies' and 'lefties'. oh, you fools, your terrible opinions and outdated justifications are abhorrent.
Every time I have even an inkling that he might learn to shut his mouth, he does something else to make me feel like throwing up every item of food that i've ever eaten. It's simply, he is too narcissistic to realise that people literally have no time or care for his message of 'Making America Great again'. What D*nald Tr*mp always neglects to say at the end of that cute little slogan is 'AT ALL COSTS'. Newsflash... He doesn't care about you or your family. He has no interest in serving the population, this is all to advance his own career and businesses. Of course, he has handed over all management of his companies over to his sons. I mean, WE SAW THE PAPERS PILED UP RIGHT? SO now it's all ok isn't it? We can all sleep tight in our cosy snowflake beds knowing that D*nald tr*mp has no conflicts of interest? That's why he convinced people to vote in their millions, they were tricked and swindled.
VOTING DOESN'T MAKE YOU A FOOL. I would even say that originally voting for him doesn’t make you a fool. I’m sympathetic of your want to make a protest vote or your deep indented misogyny. what he has said in recent months, and supporting his hate certainly does make you a fool. Remember there is always time for you to change, if you can get over your narcissism and prejudice.
D*nald tr*mp is becoming such a problem that even writing his name seems to bring a certain amount of angst and discomfort. Which is the exact reason I refuse to actually write his complete name. I wish I didn’t have to talk about this man. Sometimes this is exactly what I wish people could do, not talk about this man. He is doing destructive things in a shockingly short amount of time. I simply cannot get my head around the fact he is the president of the United States
This isn’t because I can’t embrace that he had won though. In fact, when he first won I spent a few days questioning whether all the things he said were just a mode to get into power. I thought he wasn’t actually that kind of person or even that evil. This would definitely, for the most part, turn out to be severely and stingingly untrue. He genuinely is a bit of a nut case. Even his supporters can’t deny this. All you need to do is look at his Twitter and realise how much of a selfish narcissistic he is. When he says he has the interest of the American people as a priority, he lies. The only person D*nald Tr*mp really cares about is himself.
He has proven this with showing explicitly where his interest lie in his travel ban. If he genuinely wanted to protect his countries border he would go through an in depth analysis of where the real dangers lie. I could tell him him myself that the majority of deaths in his precious America could be cut down by simply banning guns. But then his business and social interests would be affected wouldn’t they? All the dangerous, evil and manipulative people whispering in his ears are getting to him.
He’s starting to get stressed, focusing only on mediocre attacks and basic, petty things like protests (which are free speech, something he has relied on to get into his position of pseudo power) to distract people from the real issues and things he is signing in his stupid executive orders.
I find it absolutely hilarious that he was so confident that everything he said would be seen as the gospel of Tr*mp. I genuinely think he went into the whole president thing thinking that he would rule over America like some kind of king. In many ways this worries me. Not because it will affect me, because it won’t, i’m not American.
The white house has now been filled with the biggest plagues to society as a means to ruin the America laid out in the constitution. They are a bunch of spoilt brats who know nothing about improving the country and would rather sit and finance themselves into gluttony and early deaths having spent the countries taxes on unnecessary things like a big stupid wall across the Mexican border than actually do anything to help American people.
If you still think the people in positions of power in this government are here to help you and improve your country or planet, you live in a dark hole. I don’t even think they would care if D*nald Tr*mp died, I mean… I don’t even think he does anything powerful in this twisted form of government. He is the figure head of a system of hatred. He is a bigger danger to democracy to any president that has ever been in power, this is a fact.
BY THOMAS ADREW @THOMASAWRITER
I look at the world and i’m starting to see a wall being built one brick at a time. Each brick is made of negativity, and for now it’s impenetrable. The cement used is a mix of tears from victims of terrorism and hatred because they bind the bricks together and make it stay up. Every day more bricks are added. Sometimes I look and there are days were a brick has cracked or fallen from the wall because there were no tears to keep it on the wall for long, because the victims were brave. Every day I keep watch at this wall, and each time a brick is added it makes me feel sicker. I sigh and have to look away because all it does is make me mad and want to shut my self away from it all. I think that’s the point of the wall, it’s supposed to make people who just want to make the world a better and safer place want to give up. It’s supposed to be an explicit visual reminder of how horrible the world can be.
When we drive bulldozers into it nothing happens, it cracks a little maybe but those cracks are filled in quickly and we are shunned away. It spans the length of the globe and is higher than anything that can be measured nowadays due to many different, well documented factors. So most people look at it like I did and they sigh. They shed a tear and they move on, like all good humans are supposed to.
I realise now though that if a few bulldozers won’t have much effect, maybe a few hundred thousand hammers might. Maybe if we start to work together more instead of being more and more divisive all the time, we can start to break down the brick wall. It doesn’t matter how long it takes or how often we have to take our sledge hammers and smash the wall one hit at a time. Eventually those hundred of thousand people will make dents that can’t be filled in.
We will break bricks before they can be mended or replaced. Then more people will see that taking sledgehammers to the wall is starting to take effect finally. They always assumed that this was just the way now, we have the giant wall dividing us and reminding us of our human vices, but we can finally rid ourselves of it. Then one day, when we have worked and worked and been working on the wall in groups of friends, we will see the wall start to crumble and fall.
Then if they try to build it again brick by brick, the bricks won’t be able to hold together because the victims won’t see themselves as victims of bigotry and hatred anymore. They will be part of the team that succeeded in bringing down the wall. There won’t be any tears to support the bricks to build another wall. So finally we will be triumphant.
When you look at the goings on of our natural world, despite their hardship now, there is a lot of freedom in nature. Animals run around a chase each other, breath in the fresh clean air and bathe in the sunlight. They laze around doing nothing but trying to survive. It’s a harsh world sometimes but it’s nice to see this beauty in nature.
It is kind of anthropomorphising animals by giving them the same emotions, or rather hoping they have the same emotions. It’s nice though, to think that the animals we see everyday do appreciate the freedom and happiness it brings. A freedom humans would consider a luxury.
Animals are able to go about in their survival without hinderance or destruction. You never see badgers walking around barbed wire fences like little furry security guards because another badger has the wrong shoes on. You never see a squirrel denied access to a tree because they are the wrong colour of fur.
If you compare this with human beings, it’s quite sad. We are constantly hindered in everything we do. There are certain places we can’t go, buildings we can’t enter. We have to pay in one place or show a card for another.
We are so split now it’s ridiculous. To admit that there are still dictatorships existing on our planet in the year 2017 makes me feel sick. How can we create such restrictive systems when nature is naturally wanting us to be free? There is absolutely no justification for it.
This is the restrictive system we have set up as a way to control others. It has got better though. I mean, we don’t restrict access to certain places based on skin colour anymore but race problems are still as rife in the shadows. Humans are still bizarre in how much they seem to group themselves into different sub cultures and groups.
I wonder if racism and bias is something experienced in nature, I bet you it’s not. I strongly think that this is exactly where we have gone wrong and are still going wrong right now as humans. We judge too much, we are all born and raised to be bias and judgmental about other human beings. We are all odd in that way.
When you compare us to how other creatures live on Earth, we really are the oddest of beings. We go to war over money matters and material objects, judge over cosmetic differences and treat each other like we are all against one another.
We are conditioned to live our life artificially which is why humans have lost the ability to realise what destruction they are causing not just to themselves but the innocent animals in nature that are only now starting to feel like they are less free and happy. We are the ones responsible for extinctions and endangerment of other animals, so it’s remarkable that we still think the same way about our planet as we always have done. When are things going to change because I think it’s already too late to say that we can all be free citizens.
Despite what some politicians and people with way too much influence and money for their own good say, we all actually would quite like to be happy. Our lives are full of bad things and it’s easy to always focus on them and get really down and hate what life is, but we shouldn’t. We don’t have to live this way, we can always easily plan a life of happiness so that we can get over the hurdles of horrid when we get to them. For a life to be considered happy we tend to look at how happy people look in the public eye, when really we should be looking more personally. When we are trying to be happy it’s always going to be a personal journey, it’s not something that one person can fully influence you with as happiness is a personal thing that is different for us all.
Happiness is a broad spectrum because for many people it is a very different thing. Many people would say having lots of money means happiness for a person, whereas there are those, like me, who would say money actually makes people very unhappy and miserable. I’ve never seen a happy person who had billions of pounds. They are all too busy to experience real life. So I thought I would share what I’m doing to plan a life full of happiness because, well, this is my magazine/blog and I think that many people would benefit from being informed of what happiness might look like for different people.
Nowadays we are obsessed with stuff. Everyone just always wanting more stuff even if they’ve got lots of things. Moving into the future we need to try and find happiness in experience rather than things. I’d suggest that you find happiness in sorting through the clutter in your home and considering whether you actually need all the stuff that you have. Focus on just having essential things, not piling your house like a hoarders paradise. Things can be nice, but we shouldn’t be reliant on being so obsessed with things to be happy.
I always question whether people that don’t like animal are actually feeling human emotions. Even the smallest of pets can provide you with lots of happiness to considerably improve your life. Personally I have found that getting a pet has literally saved my life, my dog is one of the most important things I have ever bought, next to my subscription to Vogue magazine.
Surround yourself with only the most forward thinking and positive people. remember that other people close to you have the most influence over how you feel. So naturally it would be a plausible act to actually get rid of the negativity if you want to find happiness in your life. By this I don’t mean if someone is around you with abad mood you should completely ghost them and unfriend them on all social media, no. Just don’t be around people that you find are making your life more difficult or hindering your happiness every day. This could always be applicable to number one too, minimise your peeps!
Imagine for a moment that life isn’t all about money and material possession. Many people assume this is just the way to live. To make money, work, make money, buy things, consume and fit in. I find it kind of sad really that there is such a loss of individuality to the extent of what is happening right now. Look at Trump, he has become so obsessed with his own personal ideals he’s made it to the white house by brain washing the masses with what they SHOULD do and MAYBE might be in danger of.
It’s simple tactics that can be used on literally anyone who sees the world as this opportunists paradise of money and consumption. Many people seem to think that being different might be going for the unexpected, as in they vote for that horrible idiotic pleb because it’s ‘something different’.
No something different is going against what the horrible thoughts and disgusting beliefs say. It’s not hiding behind ‘belief’ so you can make an argument against happiness and love. ‘SOMETHING DIFFERENT’ isn’t voting for an unqualified candidate because your a rebel and you don’t do what the ‘liberals’ want. These labels as well, they are why I need a cleansing desert personally. These stupid labels that do nothing but separate one race into more and more groups and sub groups.
That’s why I’d advise we all create a space where we can go with absolutely nothing to make us stressed or angry or even accidentally judgmental because of societal conditioning. A nice white sand desert that is not only cleansing but peaceful and calming. It’s a place to realise your purpose and renew your knowledge about things that interest you. Its a place to find hope and strength in any troubles you may have in life. It’s a neutral space with nothing but your own thoughts and anxieties.
Anxieties that can be addressed and worked out. It’s important for us all to have a cleansing desert of our own because its a place we can go no matter where we are. It’s a place that’s in our heads so we can access it any time we want to. That’s a more important asset than most people realise. So if life is starting to stress you out a little as it does with us all, try visiting your cleansing white sand desert every once in a while and see how much it helps you.
In a world where we sometimes lose ourselves in the chaos of every day life it’s peculiar to think that art can have any impact in the changes we make as human beings on planet Earth. It’s odd to think that a sculpture, drawing, painting, poem or any piece of literature could make a difference. Artists have long been seen as people who can create beautiful things, yes, but nothing else. Art is seen as a middle class past time and something for the rich to obsess themselves over. When really, art has always been about informing and social change. Art has always been there to tell the stories that normal conversation and every day life can never successfully get across. It’s breaking through the barriers that we have put up over the thousands of years of creating our modern world.
Even when you look at a simple cave painting on the walls of a random cave in the middle of southern Spain, you would learn a lot from it. Archaeologists would jump at the chance to research such a great find, because the art that the cave people had done would now help modern humans understand what they were like.
This is where we are still going wrong as humans. Not fully appreciating the influence that art has over us. If it was not for art we would not have anything really that we hold dear. Music is not just tunes and words. It has the power to turn senile old people into the people they once were before their old age had taken over their brains, even if it’s just while they are listening to familiar music. This is a beautiful example of how art is being revealed as the wonderful medium for change it has actually always been.
Attitudes are changing. Attitudes are something that can be moulded and influenced should the right person be there to influence and make a difference. When we create art it has always been to do something. A painting of a Tudor monarch now provides the general look and style of the monarch when they were alive. A carved sculpture from the Roman era tells us that they were a lot more liberal than a majority of our planet is in the modern age. They show talent, yes. That will always be a main attractive, aesthetic quality to art. Art for change though is what the future will be filled with more and more. A way for art to influence attitudes that have yet to get with the times. Attitudes are mainly formed by what we see and read and listen to. What is art if not something we see, or read or listen to.
It doesn’t always have to be a masterpiece or a novel or a legendary symphony to change one persons attitude. More and more we see children’s drawings, writing, videos and short films online that rightly and perfectly ‘normalise’ issues like race and LBGTQ+ people. They perfectly and perhaps most importantly, quickly show the view that we are all just human and nothing else should matter when it really comes down to living and letting people live.
I’ve always been curious about how weird things can stimulate a feeling of nostalgia. You can’t deny that feeling nostalgic is a great feeling. It allows us to look back at the good things that have made our lives and for a moment we can ignore anything that is bad in the present. For example, certain smells like swimming pools and fresh flowers make me think of great hazy summers when I was a child. I remember a large rock formation just over the large hill where I grew up that provided us with hours of happiness because it was like our own giant obstacle course. It was basically a pile of rubble but nostalgia has clouded my memories to see that big pile of rocks as the greatest playground for a young growing boy. That’s how I remember it because that’s what makes me happy. I had a great childhood in the Yorkshire countryside, quite stereotypical for a working class upbringing like mine. I was allowed the freedom to play in nature around my house and create lasting memories by building dens and playing games, it was great.
I like to remember the happy times like those because it’s a good way to provide self help in times where you might be feeling down. Memories are more important than any of us really do realise. I mean, if we clog up our thoughts with bad memories, like Roald Dahl says, the thoughts will start to show. That’s why many people tend to looked stressed, they have lots of bad memories and neglect the good memories that are in jail in the back of their minds. So here are three ways you could create happy days in the present too.
Do you ever look at social media nowadays and think how low some people can strike at those who can’t help the way they are? It’s strange how much these people seem to over think everything when it comes to LGBT and minority issues.
You would think that they would want to think less about those things if it was such an issue. Social media can be great for making a name for yourself and creating relationships with people in places in the world you can only visit in your wildest dreams. It’s wonderful and there are millions and millions of oddly great human beings that populate the internet, but we don’t pay attention to them.
We give the attention, wrongly, to the ones who are controversial, who say things we disagree with. It creates debate and widens the conversation.
They create an issue out of the littlest of things like the inclusion of a lesbian couple on a game show or a gay kiss. It’s stupid how much they care, how much they need to desperately make it a crusade every time they see something that they don’t agree with for some odd bizarre reason (excuse) like their religious beliefs or generational differences.
It’s not because your old, views change, society changes, we all can better ourselves regardless of anything that society has influences.
It isn’t an issue though, to these hermit groups of people, because they can’t grasp that love will always just be love and that’s all. They overthink and it leads to misinformed thoughts, stereotypes and ways of looking at how LGBTQ people have relationships.
They have mood boards of AIDS and promiscuity and sleeping around I wrote an article a few months back on the subject of an over-sexualisation of LBGTQ people which you can read here- the-over-sexualisation-of-gay.html
I think it’s important to note that we should never stereotype LGBT people in this way because we are all the same. I mean yes, some people have a certain problem with being over eager to hook up, but that can actually be a genuine addiction, but that’s another subject all together and is definitely not the majority of ordinary folk.
That’s just it though, some people don’t necessarily have issue with it, it’s more about being able to express a different viewpoint. We should always respect the fact that people have different viewpoints. It is how we will move forward in our society. There must always be a cut off point though. It’s disgusting how far some people will go in order to get a reaction. I’ve seen some terrible things online, and I think unless something drastic is done, it will only get worse. Hate needs to be regulated.
Reactions are nothing really, a reaction is a temporary thing, and temporary things will be worthless ultimately. All the time these people spend online spreading their prejudice and hate and disguising themselves behind blank profiles and names like ‘trolls’ they make a habit of being terrible people. Why would you want to spend even a second of your life doing that?
Few things nowadays make me genuinely sad. I mean, i’ve kind of learnt to just get over things that won’t affect my life seriously. There is never much point dwelling on things or taking them personally when it’s something that is not really worth the time or energy.
Then it happened. I logged on my computer and, like everyday, checked to see the big news of the day. I like to keep up to date at all times like that because i’m a media savvy person, sort of. This was news that I could not let pass though.
This was not a small discrepancy or slight inconvenience. No, NETFLIX CANCELS SENSE8. The words struck me like a dagger. I immediately began to tear up and a rage, one like I had never experienced filled me.
I knew that the petitions would come, the trends would be hash tagged and I knew that eventually an statement full of choice words and careful ways of writing things would be used by Netflix as a way of basically saying ‘SHUT UP AND ACCEPT IT, LOSERS’ .
It’s not just another series though is it? Sense8 is something special. Not only is it really, remarkably impressive visually and through its writing and acting, it’s simply marvellous. It’s marvellous because it makes you a better person having watched it.
It normalises what should be normal and doesn’t trivialise what really, in the modern age, need not be trivialised. It’s basically telling the world that LGBT people and other beliefs and religions, ways of living, poor or rich and intelligent or not, are all the same. We are all one in a system. The sensate might be eight people connected but there is so much more to it.
They are a metaphor for us all being the same and connected somehow. So when we commit an atrocity, violence and actions through stupid immoral angers, we are hurting a part of us all. Can you name me another television series that achieves this? I can’t think of one.
There came the joyous message of hope through Netflix commissioning a two hour finale so that the story can be properly finished. For me, as someone who is never happy it seems, this is not enough. The thing is, we might have to forever except this as enough.
It’s the cost that’s the problem it seems. If a series doesn’t have enough audience when it costs so much, what is the point, in the eyes of a money making media company, in making the expensive series. Thats why for now, even though you may be like me and wanting more of SENSE8, maybe it’s time to just wait for what is to come with the two hour finale.
Let’s battle for more after that, when we see what the amazing sisters do with the series for the commissioned two hours. I think it’s going to be a master class into why SENSE8 will forever be a part of everyone who had the opportunity to watch it and be a better person because of watching it.
In the modern world it's easy to become overwhelmed with expectations of how we should look and think and dress and act. Life has become a performance, a way to set out in impressing others that we live side by side with. It's odd, and I really don't think this was the purpose of life when it was developing.
It's the little things that make us who we are. I've always said that to be human you have to be different and that doesn't just mean the way you act and speak. Your personality is the part of you that you can decide to control, the majority of us can dictate what we say, so for all of us thats the best way we can be in control of how the rest of society perceives us.
What we look like and how people view us on the outside and at a distance is something we have less control over. Yes, we can plaster on makeup, style the hair on our heads and exercise to build our muscles to get that perfect aesthetic all humans apparently long for, but really we have very little control. It’s mostly about luck when it comes to looks. At least in the superficial sense.
The thing is though, much like we control our inner selfs, we can to a point, control the outer self too. Its about positive thinking. If we feel positive then it will show on the outside more. A smile can do wonders even if it’s a day where we really don’t have anything to smile about. It shows strength and dignity to smile and silently tell the rest of the world that no biological thing can beat you.
Thats why I love to see body positivity and people who don’t care about the judgments of others. Uniqueness is an achievement in a world of sheep led by shepherds. It’s not something that you have to try hard to do either. Every day we can move further away from the old ways of thinking. We can see the world as opportunity to express ourselves. If the majority did this then our world would be a lot more colourful and positive. I think we would achieve more as a society. The world wouldn’t have that dark shadow of wickedness cast over it that there is right now.
There would be light and cheerfulness that would make us all wake up early on a morning and smile that the world is awake with us. That’s the only way we can advance and be better people. It’s simple really, to be a decent human being. I think people who judge others so much are also lacking in the confidence that they are trying to take from others. It’s a vicious circle that we all need to get out of. Be nicer to each other for goodness sake, what is it possibly going to take?

THE STORY OF ODDLANDISH
ODDLANDISH is a place for me to write my own thoughts about life. I would consider myself quite a unique person and someone who has experienced more than their fair share of problems in the short time they have existed. EACH MONTH will be different in theme so don't forget to leave a comment, like and subscribe to get an exclusive first look at written works before they are seen by others. :) Enjoy my magazine of the worlds oddity.
